Read chpt. 4 & poems 32, 33, 34, 36 & 40

Pds. 3, 4 & 5:
Distributed “Poetry Review” Handout (we will know & apply all of these, and a couple more additions, in preparation for our poetry exam)
Discussed & applied “narrative poetry,” “hypebole,” & “rhyme scheme” to “Casey at the Bat”
Discussed & applied “dramatic monologue”(put term & definition for “dramatic poetry” next to it), “simile,” “metaphor,” “personification” to “Incident in a Rose Garden” – pg. 146
We completed the definitions on the review sheet prior to applying the terms to the poem; definitions can be found in the “Literary Handbook”
Homework- Study all 60 flashcards (Units 13, 14 & 15) for Vocab. qtr. exam on Fri. & complete Unit 16 exercises, including “word lab 4” , pgs. 167-178 for Thurs.
