Essay prompt assigned for The Great Gatsby: essay due 3/16 by 3 pm (whether in attendance or not); MLA formatted, final draft must be typed, rough draft must be handwritten, both drafts must be submitted for completion of the prompt, create an original title, use all essay writing notes carefully, use correct point of view/perspective; see me outside of class for any tutorial help (am or pm)

Homework – read chpt. 5 and explicate the following poems(use Perrine’s 29 questions to help you), write responses to the exercises too: the guitarist tunes up, the hound, it sifts from leaden sieves, the subalterns, metaphors, toads; also, complete the exercises on pg. 77.
